I am a professor of Animal Production Sciences (BVS, MSc, Ph.D.) at U of K, Sudan. I joined the College of Veterinary Medicine, the University of Bahri as a teaching staff and head of Dept. of Food Safety and Veterinary Public Health from Feb 2014 up to Feb. 2021. I worked as a Head of Animal Production Farms Control Unit ADFCA, United Arab Emirates during 2005-2012; Head of Animal the Research Unit, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, United Arab Emirates during 1997- 2005 and Director General of Animal Wealth Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Sudan during 1992 –1994.

I guided several research projects financed by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research. I Supervised over 17 MSc and 6 Ph.D. I evaluated more than 35 postgraduate students; published more than 36 scientific papers and 6 scientific books (in Arabic language); reviewed 10 manuscripts for several local and regional scientific Journals. I delivered more than 50 lectures in seminars, workshops and conferences.

I prepared several technical manuals (Technical Specifications and Construction Guidelines for Export Abattoirs; Basic requirements for slaughter slab specifications; Business management manual for livestock markets; and HACCP for International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). Also prepared several technical manuals for Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, United Arab Emirates (Identification of Animal Production Systems in Delma Island: Current Situation and Possible Solutions; Abu Dhabi dairy annual assessment project). I prepared UAE Country Report for Animal Health and the Country Report for Animal Production requested by Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD).

I conducted training sessions (more than 75) in Food safety (HACCP); Veterinary quarantine; Risk-based Inspection; Goat management; farm biosecurity.

I conducted consultation activities for different institutions and companies in food safety, animal welfare, and climate change. I offered consultancies to FAO (ASSESSMENT OF VULNERABILITY OF LIVESTOCK AND RANGELANDS TO CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS IN SUDAN); Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN) (Climate change: desk review concerning tier 2); “almustagbal quality –consultancy Co.” Dubai (Food Safety); IGAD (Sudan Animal Welfare Strategy); FAO (Country Report contributing to The State of the World’s Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture); Abu Dhabi, Star Company (assessment of the status of HACCP prerequisites in the slaughterhouses of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi).
